New enterprising students, new distinguished faculty point Syracuse University to the future

AUGUST 24, 2009 - SYRACUSE, NY

Building on its legacy as a place of opportunity and innovation, Syracuse University this week will welcome 3,260 new undergraduate students—bright, enterprising women and men who represent the University’s most economically and socially diverse incoming class ever. Over the next year, these students will be joined by 98 new faculty members who have been recently recruited and hired—comprising one of SU’s most competitive new faculty cohorts ever.

September 9, 2009 - SYRACUSE, NY

This Wednesday, September 9th,  Vice President Biden will visit Syracuse University and hold a meeting of the White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families focused on the issues of college access and affordability. Joining the Vice President and me at the meeting will be Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner,  Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, our Associate VP for Enrollment and Director of Scholarship & Student Aid Youlonda Copeland-Morgan, and other leading higher education experts.
