Syracuse Alumni Warm Up the Holiday Season
On Dec.12, Orange alumni warmed up the holiday season at New York City’s Swift bar by attending the second annual Big Apple Orange holiday party. Over 50 alumni enjoyed a night of reminiscing about the snowy days on the hill while enjoying traditional Irish food, festive drinks, and live music. The first 20 alumni that arrived were greeted with a free drink.
Syracuse Basketball Paints the Town Orange
On a freezing Tuesday, December 29 evening, over two dozen Syracuse alumni crowded Local West to take advantage of a Big Apple Orange pre-game happy hour and then headed across the street to Penn Station. Fans then took a quick train ride to The Prudential Center in Newark to watch the Syracuse Orange beat the Seton Hall Pirates 80-73. Thanks to Big Apple Orange and the NJ Alumni Club the stadium was covered in
Orange, and cheers of “Lets Go Orange” resonated throughout the stadium as the Orange defeated the Pirates.
Although ‘Cuse doesn’t play many more games in the New York City area, it doesn’t mean the orange spirit will fade in the Big Apple. The Big Apple Orange will continue to host New York City alumni game watching parties (complete with drink specials) at The Hill on 3rd Ave. between 29th and 30th St. So far, Syracuse fans have joined fellow alumni at The Hill to watch Syracuse take on the Florida Gators, South Florida Bulls, Pittsburg Panthers and the Memphis Tigers.
Elyse, class of ’09, attended the Syracuse vs. Memphis game watching party at the hill and said “Wednesday at The Hill was great! Such a good deal, I love it there. Can't wait for the next one! Thanks for making us feel like we're semi-still in college!”
During Syracuse basketball games, The Hill will offer $3 domestic drafts, $4 well drinks, $10 pitchers and $5 appetizers.
